Laois Dance Academy

Laois Dance Academy is a dance school serving Portlaoise and Killenard in Co. Laois, offering ballet, contemporary, hip hop, urban jazz, modern and lyrical classes for ages 3 to adult.

With 16 weekly classes across two venues, including the Dance Laois studio at 4 Hynds Square, the academy combines accredited exam training with an annual showcase at the theatre where every dancer performs. Classes are led by qualified, university-trained teachers who perform and choreograph, and many began as students at the academy.

The Laois Youth Dance Ensemble, funded by Arts Council Ireland, gives young dancers a company experience with performances at festivals in Dublin, Paris and Lisbon. The academy also runs dance workshops in schools and wedding dance lessons, and offers a parent app for timetables, attendance and fees.
