McGahan Lees Irish Dance Academy (McGL) was founded by Frances McGahan in 1996 and is registered with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha. Over its history it has produced 8 World Champions, 14 All Ireland Champions and 30 Oireachtas/Major winners. Classes run across Essex, Kent, North and South London, with European classes in Prague and Warsaw.

The academy welcomes dancers from age 4, from complete beginners in relaxed, non-competitive classes through to Open Championship level competition training. Experienced, CLRG-qualified teachers lead the classes. Taster classes are free, only comfortable sports clothes and plimsolls are needed to start, and twice-yearly fun class competitions let families see progress.

Adult classes are also offered, and the 'Friends of McGahan Lees' scheme helps talented dancers progress regardless of finances.
