Piltown Karate Club (PKC) is one of Ireland's oldest Shotokan karate clubs, founded in 1981 by Kathleen Byrne, a 6th dan and one of the highest-ranked female black belts in Europe. Based in South Kilkenny, the club welcomes members of all ages and abilities, with over 40 members including more than 8 black belts training regularly.

PKC is affiliated with SKIF Ireland and SKIF International under World Chief Instructor Hirokazu Kanazawa Kancho (10th Dan), who visits Ireland twice a year, and with the Official National Amateur Karate Association of Ireland. Members compete nationally and internationally, and the club celebrates both the traditional and sporting sides of karate.

New members are always welcome.
