Republic of Fitness is a friendly, community-minded gym on the Castlebar Road in Westport, Co. Mayo, owned and run by Matthew Boccaccio and Yvonne Sweeney. The large, fully equipped open gym has resistance equipment, free weights and cardio machines, plus generous open floor space for mobility and free movement.

Members can join full-body group training classes that blend strength, cardio and mobility for all abilities, or book personal and semi-private training and nutrition coaching. Specialist extras include a dedicated Peach Builder glute corner, a HYROX, Deadly Dozen and Tryka training area, Fit3D body scanning and MyZone heart-rate tracking.

With flexible access hours and day and week passes, it's an easy place to try out before committing.
