Birka Dansklubb

Birka Dansklubb is one of Stockholm's most established dance clubs, founded in 1968, with training halls in Alvik and at Thorildsplan. The club teaches ten-dance – that is, five Latin dances (Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive and Paso Doble) and five ballroom dances (Waltz, Quickstep, Slow Foxtrot, Tango and Viennese Waltz). Courses are aimed at children, young people and adults at various levels of experience, and there is the option to register your interest or attend a trial class before committing. The atmosphere is association-based rather than studio-based, with a clear competitive track for those who wish to test themselves against others – the club is affiliated with the dancesport competition calendar.

With over fifty years of history in Stockholm and the option to use Fritidskortet, it is an accessible choice for anyone who wants to learn ballroom or Latin dancing seriously.
