Cantagalo Jiu Jitsu Stockholm

Cantagalo BJJ is a martial arts club on Södermalm in Stockholm specialising in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in both gi and no-gi formats. The club was founded by Bruno Matias, a fifth-degree black belt with roots in the Cantagalo favela in Rio de Janeiro and a lineage that traces directly back to Carlos and Hélio Gracie. Matias is a multiple world and European champion within IBJJF and runs training with a focus on technique, discipline and personal development.

The club offers twelve classes per week spread across weekday evenings and weekends, with classes suited to everyone from complete beginners to competitive practitioners. Children and young people have their own sessions, and from January 2025 a dedicated group for 11–15-year-olds will start. The instructor team consists of black, blue and purple belts who are responsible for different parts of the programme.

The club is located at Åsögatan 153 and offers three membership levels with a twelve-month commitment. The lowest level, Silver, includes two lessons and one sparring session per week, while Gold gives unlimited access to all classes. Platinum additionally includes one private lesson per month. New practitioners can try all training free of charge for fourteen days with no prior experience required. A second location is planned to open in Solna.
