Shorinji Kempo

Shorinji Kempo Stockholm Södra is a non-profit martial arts club with a dojo at Östgötagatan 17 in Södermalm, close to the Medborgarplatsen underground station. The club offers training in Shorinji Kempo, a Japanese martial art that combines self-defence, physical fitness and mental development based on budo philosophy. Training is suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners, regardless of age, gender or prior experience – each participant trains according to their own ability.

Regular adult training is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings starting at 18:00, as well as Saturday mornings when there is sufficient interest. The instructors hold international credentials and pay full membership fees themselves, reflecting the club's non-profit character. A children's group is also available as a separate option for younger practitioners.

Membership includes a term fee and insurance. For adults, the spring term costs 3,600 kronor and the autumn term 2,500 kronor, with reduced prices for young people, students and those seeking employment. Families training together receive a 50 per cent discount for additional household members. Those who pay for the full year receive a discounted rate.
