Sollentuna Seniorgymnastik

Sollentuna Seniorgymnastik is a non-profit association in Sollentuna that offers exercise classes adapted for pensioners and seniors. The association was founded in 2016 by committed participants after the municipality withdrew its free-of-charge senior gymnastics provision, and has since been run on a cost-price basis with termly membership fees.

The programme consists of five exercise classes and three chair gymnastics classes per week, supplemented by Qi Gong and Yoga — one class each per week. The classes are led by Anette Fällström, who has organised senior gymnastics in Sollentuna for many years, and are spread across five different venues around the municipality. With groups of over 200 members and an average age of around 75, there is a distinctly close-knit atmosphere in which socialising is valued just as highly as physical activity.
