Tullinge Wadoryu Karate

Tullinge Wadoryu Karate is a karate club in Tullinge that trains in the Wadoryu style, one of the larger karate styles practised internationally. Training is divided into groups by age and experience: beginner children aged 6–10 train on Mondays and Wednesdays 18.00–19.00, while beginners aged 11 and above train on Tuesdays and Thursdays 19.00–20.30. For more experienced practitioners there are advanced groups for both under and over 11s. Within Wadoryu, training covers kata (formal movement sequences) and kumite (sparring), and the club also offers grading and a competition group for those who want to take it a step further.

Training takes place in the club's own dojo in Tullinge, providing a cohesive and traditional training environment. The club was founded by, and long bore the mark of, Sensei Joel Hultgren, who passed away in 2023 and was a driving force in Wadoryu karate in Sweden. The style itself emphasises harmony and technique over pure power development, which is reflected in how training is conducted.
