Pilates With Gemma is a boutique Pilates studio led by Gemma Jenkins, a Level 3 qualified Pilates instructor. Gemma has practised Pilates for over 10 years after experiencing joint problems from childhood, and now teaches a clinical, contemporary approach based on Modern Pilates — developed by physiotherapists to address posture, core stability, and injury rehabilitation.

Classes run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings (10–11am) at the Hundred Acre Scout Centre in Streetly, near Sutton Coldfield. Gemma offers a hands-on teaching style focused on spinal alignment, postural awareness, and functional strength, making her classes suitable for general fitness as well as those managing back pain, prolapsed discs or osteoarthritis.

The best Pilates studios in Manchester 2026

Manchester has 21 independent Pilates studios, twelve with enough reviews to judge. Classical, reformer, hot mat and Olympian-founded — here are ten worth knowing, and how to choose between them.

Pilates or yoga: which one should you choose?

They look almost identical from the outside — a mat, comfy kit, a lot of breathing. They train very different things. We compare the goal, the intensity, the price and the class itself, using real data from 1,561 yoga studios and 1,563 pilates studios across the UK.

Class pass or monthly membership: which works out cheaper in London?

The right answer depends entirely on how many classes a week you actually attend — here is the real maths behind both models in London.
