Bujinkan Stockholm Gyokuryu Dojo

Bujinkan Stockholm Gyokuryu Dojo is a martial arts dojo on Södermalm, located at Bondegatan 24 near Medborgarplatsen, teaching traditional Japanese budo within the framework of Bujinkan – an art commonly known as Ninjutsu.

Training covers a broad range of techniques: Jutaijutsu (grappling and throws), Dakentaijutsu (strikes and kicks), Taihenjutsu (rolls and breakfalls), Kenjutsu (sword techniques), Bojutsu (staff), Naginatajutsu (Japanese halberd) and Sojutsu (spear), as well as Seishin teki kyoyo for mental training.

Classes are structured in two formats – Grundträning for fundamental movements and Blandpass at a higher pace with weapons work and advanced techniques – and are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and every other Saturday. The space is mat-covered with room for all levels, and all levels train together in a setup where beginners and experienced practitioners exchange knowledge.

What sets the dojo apart is that it is not a competitive sport: the focus is on distance, timing and body movement rather than strength and speed, which makes the art possible to practise throughout one's life.
