Acacia School of Dance is a community dance studio on the borders of Battersea and Clapham, with over 38 years of history bringing the joy of dance to children and adults alike. Founded in 1987 by Joan, the school has grown from a small Saturday class of ten children to welcoming over 100 students each week.
Classes span all major dance genres — Ballet, Tap, and Modern — and are structured by age group: Starlings (3–5), Starbursts (6–10), Aces (11–18), and Adults (16+). The curriculum follows the recognised ISTD Grade exam framework, with experienced teachers who nurture confidence, creativity, and technique at every level.
Students have the opportunity to perform at local venues including Battersea Arts Centre, The Grand, and Wimbledon Theatre. The studio prides itself on being a genuine, non-franchise community school where lifelong friendships are formed and every dancer is seen, supported, and inspired to shine.
