Shoshin Aikido is a friendly, non-competitive aikido school led by Brendan Dowling, one of Ireland's most experienced aikido teachers. Alongside its Harolds Cross dojo in Dublin 6, it runs a Leixlip dojo at the Leixlip Amenities Centre in Co. Kildare, which draws students from Maynooth, Celbridge and Lucan.

Classes cover all levels, from complete beginners to experienced martial artists, with adult, beginner and young people's sessions. Training focuses on balance, timing and safe falling, using throws, joint controls and partner practice in a padded dojo.

The school is a member of the Irish Martial Arts Commission (IMAC), and its coaches are Coaching Ireland accredited and Garda vetted. The first class is free.
