Asylum Strength is a not-for-profit Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting gym based in Newtownards. Specialising in the snatch, clean & jerk, squat, bench press, and deadlift, the club welcomes athletes of all ages and abilities — from absolute beginners to national and international competitors.

Expert, fully qualified coaches provide structured programming, technique development, and a supportive community atmosphere. Youth programmes are available from age 5 through to 17, and adult memberships include anytime gym access alongside dedicated coached sessions each week.
