Climbing Life is a personal climbing instruction service run by Hugh Thornbery CBE, a qualified Rock Climbing Development Instructor and Mountain Leader. Hugh offers outdoor climbing lessons and courses for novices and improvers, including trad and sport climbing, learn-to-lead courses (one and two day), as well as guided walks and navigation.

With decades of climbing experience across the UK, Europe, Arctic Norway, the US and Himalaya, Hugh tailors his coaching to individual needs — including those with physical disabilities, neurodiversity and mental health challenges.
