D.A.W.S (Disability Awareness with Sport) Community Gym is a charitable incorporated organisation and non-profit community gym based at Isobel Bowler Sports Ground in Sheffield.
Founded and run by Stephen, a GP Referral and Level 3/4 disability fitness instructor who is himself disabled, the gym is dedicated to serving disabled individuals, those with special educational needs (SEN), and people with long-term ill health.
DAWS offers gym tutorials, cardio exercise classes, stretching and mobility sessions, inclusive indoor games, and soft zone archery, as well as differentiated PE sessions in local primary and secondary SEND schools. The gym also operates sessions at the Joseph Stone Centre.
Winners of the UK Active Flame Award and Instructability Award 2016, and recipients of multiple awards in 2025 including the Sheffield Move-more Lifetime Achievement Award.
