De Souza Dojo Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy was founded by Alex De Souza, a fifth-degree black belt who arrived in Bournemouth in 1996 and pioneered BJJ in the area. The academy offers GI and No-GI Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for adults, teens, kids (from age 4), and a dedicated ladies' class.
With over 20 years of professional instruction, Alex and his team provide a structured curriculum rooted in authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu culture, emphasising technique, safety, fitness, self-defence, and personal development. Private sessions are also available.
