Derekthedog is Exeter's original yoga studio, open since 2002 and proudly self-described as the 'Heart Chakra' of yoga in the city.

Set on the third floor of Queens Walk in the city centre, the light-filled rooftop studio offers daily group classes across a wide range of authentic traditions — including Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha, Kundalini, Yin, Pregnancy, Postnatal and very gentle trauma-informed sessions.

All teachers are carefully selected for their ability to hold a safe, inclusive space, and several are trauma-responsive trained. Alongside studio classes, the programme includes Zoom sessions, outdoor Park Yoga in Belmont Park (summer months), 8-week courses, workshops, Yoga Philosophy, and outreach into care homes, prisons and secure spaces.

The studio welcomes all abilities, ages, sizes and backgrounds — no experience necessary.
