Excel Dance

Excel Dance is a full-time dance academy with two Sheffield locations — Halfway and Hillsborough — open six days a week and teaching over 350 students of all ages.

Founded in 2008 by Sharnie Richards, who has over 28 years of dance training and competition experience, the academy offers classes in commercial dance, street dance, contemporary, musical theatre, adult street dance, and Dance Tots. Classes are grouped by age, from Dance Tots (18 months–3 years) and Mini Movers (3–5 years) through Excel Juniors (6+) to Teen & Adult sessions.

The academy also organises dance birthday parties, competitions, performances, and yearly shows, and prides itself on building confidence, focus, and life skills alongside technical dance ability. A free trial class is available for new students.
