Gymophobics Macclesfield is a ladies-only health and fitness centre that opened in October 2016, offering a supportive, non-intimidating environment for women of all ages. The centre is built around Gymophobics' trademarked Resisted Tension (RT) programme — a unique system combining isometric muscle contractions with resistance exercise on specialist machines.
There are no treadmills, weights or mirrors; instead, qualified coaches are present throughout every session to provide personalised guidance and encouragement. Members can also enjoy digital classes filmed by founder Donna Hubbard, ranging from 5-minute blasts to 30-minute sessions. New visitors are welcome to book a free guest visit to see the gym and learn how it works.
