Gymophobics Stowmarket is a ladies-only health and fitness centre that opened in March 2017, owned by Loraine and Andy. It is part of the Gymophobics franchise, which has helped over 250,000 UK women achieve their goals.
The centre uses the trademarked Resisted Tension (RT) programme — a unique approach combining isometric muscle contractions with resistance exercise on machines. There are no treadmills, weights, or mirrors; instead, qualified instructors provide personalised guidance and VIP attention throughout every pre-booked session.
The warm, non-intimidating environment welcomes women of all ages, from teens to seventy-plus, supporting goals such as weight loss, improved mental health, better mobility and overall wellbeing. Digital classes filmed by the founder are also available to members.
