Openshaw Shukokai Karate Club is East Manchester's traditional Shito-ryu Shukokai Karate club, based at East Manchester Leisure Centre in Beswick. Led by Chief Instructor Steve Buckley (5th Dan), the club is a proud member of the Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Karate-do Union (UK).
Classes are open to males and females aged 5 and upwards with no prior experience required, covering self-defence techniques, competition fighting, sparring, grappling and kata. Training is formal yet friendly, with students encouraged to progress through belt gradings towards Black Belt. All instructors are enhanced DBS checked and members are insured through the EKF.
