Shotokan Karate England (SKE) has been delivering karate excellence since 1985, growing from the original Chingford Karate Club into a network of clubs across North East London and the South of England.
Classes run seven days a week for adults of all ages and abilities, and children aged 6 and above, with sessions targeted at beginners, intermediate, and advanced Black and Brown Belt students. Led by Chief Instructor Sensei Rod Butler — a 7th Dan with over 50 years of experience — SKE's fully qualified Black Belt instructors undergo rigorous ongoing training.
The clubs hold regular gradings and courses with top international karate instructors, and all SKE clubs have achieved the Safeguarding in Martial Arts Code. Over 400 members have reached Black Belt level, with some achieving national and international success.
SKE has also gained national media recognition through appearances on BBC's The One Show, ITV's Martin Lewis Money Show, a Mike Leigh short film, and a Whiskas TV advert.
