South Essex Gymnastics Club (SEGC) is a long-established gymnastics club in Basildon, formed through the merger of Basildon, Castle Point and Magna Carta Gymnastics Clubs. Founded in 1992, the club has been home to world-class gymnasts including Max Whitlock OBE, Danny Lawrence and Reiss Beckford, all Commonwealth Games medal winners.
In 2012, SEGC served as an official pre-games training venue for the London Olympics, hosting international teams from Ireland, Holland, New Zealand, Austria, Guatemala, Czech Republic and Japan.
The club offers a wide range of classes for all ages and abilities — from Fun4Baby and Parent & Toddler sessions through to Women's Artistic, Men's Artistic, Rhythmic, Circus, Junior Freestyle and Adult Gym — as well as birthday parties, school visits and community programmes.
With over 60 young volunteers in its leaders academy, SEGC is committed to making gymnastics accessible, fun and safe for everyone in the community.
