One of the oldest hardcore gyms in the country, The Muscle Pit has been an iron institution since the early 1970s. Known as Venice Beach Dewsbury, it offers a raw old-school experience across an original indoor iron room and an outdoor yard packed with tyres, rigs and serious kit.
With 24/7 keyhold access, a tight-knit family atmosphere and zero-nonsense ethos, it's a place for men and women who actually want to lift. Owner Sam Cullingworth — the Gym Reaper — is on hand to give free advice on training and diet.
