Unit 1 Training Facility is a functional fitness gym in Terenure, Dublin, specialising in strength and conditioning. Opened in March 2017 by owner and head coach Claire McGlynn, it has grown into a close-knit community hub for everyone from complete beginners to elite athletes.

Classes are capped at 12 members on weekdays and follow a structured four-week programme, with lower-body, upper-body and full-body strength days (including occasional Olympic weightlifting) finished off with short conditioning work. Beyond group classes, the gym offers 1-1 personal training for general health or competition prep, plus personalised online programmes.

Coaches are experienced strength and conditioning, CrossFit, weightlifting and athletics specialists, and the atmosphere is welcoming, supportive and full of craic. Booking and payments run through the MindBody app, with a €10 first-time trial class for those with prior strength training experience.
