Women's Activity Centre (WAC) is a female-only day care and community centre based in the Park Ward area of Halifax, West Yorkshire. Founded in 2011, WAC provides structured support primarily to South Asian women aged 50+, addressing social isolation and deprivation rooted in cultural and language barriers.
The centre offers accessible exercise classes, a luncheon club, day care services, respite for carers, relaxation and mindfulness sessions, meditation, holistic well-being, diabetes self-health management, counselling and support.
WAC also operates a sauna and other health equipment, and runs community projects including support for women entering careers in Health & Social Care.
