Ordinary Mind Stockholm

Ordinary Mind Stockholm is a Zen meditation group on Södermalm that brings practitioners together around the Buddhist tradition of zazen. The group is part of the Swedish network Ordinary Mind Sverige and is based in premises at Erstagatan 28, where regular meditation evenings are held every Wednesday.

A typical session consists of two rounds of seated meditation of 30 minutes each, walking meditation, and a period of tea and shared exchange. In addition to the Wednesday gatherings, there is also an opportunity to meditate on Monday evenings in Hägersten. The group offers introductory sessions for beginners at regular intervals, and these take place under the guidance of a teacher.

Participation is by voluntary donation, known as dana. Pricing is flexible, with options for drop-in, monthly membership, and a reduced fee for students, job seekers, and pensioners. All leaders work on a voluntary basis and funds collected go exclusively towards premises costs. The group welcomes everyone regardless of prior experience of meditation.
