Täby AK

Täby AK is a non-profit association in Täby focused entirely on powerlifting — both as a form of training and as a competitive sport. The gym, located in Tibble Sporthall, offers powerlifting-specific training with squat, bench press and deadlift at its core.

The premises are approximately 400 square metres and are divided into a lifting area with around ten racks and platforms, and a gym area with machines and supplementary equipment. Training is largely self-organised rather than instructor-led, which creates an environment where serious lifters train side by side. The association has around 350 members, of whom 60 are competition-active licensed lifters competing at levels ranging from local to national team. It is a dedicated powerlifting club — not a general gym — which is reflected in the equipment, the culture, and the fact that the club organises competitions and holds Swedish records.
