Black Tiger Martial Arts New Dawn Community

Black Tiger Martial Arts is a community-focused martial arts school based in South Manchester with nearly two decades of experience.

The school's core system is Ashihara Karate Jutsu — a hybrid style combining Ashihara Karate with Japanese Jujitsu, Judo, Aikido, Chin Na, Shuai Jiao and TaiChi — offering practical self-defence rooted in fluid Sabaki body movement rather than brute force.

Classes at the New Dawn Dojo on Button Lane, Northern Moor include Ashihara Karate Jutsu for adults (15+), seniors (12+) and juniors (5–11), Cheng Man Ch'ing TaiChi on Tuesday evenings, and private lessons in Urban Tiger Kempo, Japanese Kickboxing or TaiChi.

The school is affiliated with the Ashihara Karate World Independent Union, with Shihan Ken serving as Branch Chief and UK Representative. All instructors hold current DBS certification and First Aid qualifications. The first class is free.
