Republic of Jiu Jitsu is a community-focused Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Dublin, founded by Brazilian-born head coach Abnel Rodrigues, a third-degree black belt who moved to Ireland in 2008. The academy teaches that technique and leverage can let smaller people defend themselves against bigger opponents, and welcomes all ages, shapes and sizes.

Classes run in both Gi and NoGi, from fundamentals through to advanced sparring sessions, led by black and brown belt instructors. There are separate programmes for kids (5-10) and teens (11-15), plus a competition team for IBJJF and IMMAA athletes alongside plenty of hobbyists training for fitness and stress relief.

The club is currently moving into a new home at Drury Court on Drury Street, funded by community fundraising, and is affiliated with GET-fight Ireland.
