Furness Judo Academy is part of the DNA Judo group — one of only three organisations in the UK with British Judo Association Elite Provider status. Operating two weekly dojos in the Furness area (Ulverston and Barrow), the academy welcomes judoka of all ages from 4 years upwards, from complete beginners to experienced competitors.
Head coaches Evan Allan and Gary Bentley are 1st Degree Blackbelts and fully qualified BJA Level 1 coaches, both DBS-checked and safeguarding-qualified. Sessions cover throws, groundwork, pins, chokes and joint locks, with pathways for gradings, competitions and additional training.
