The Northumberland Fire and Rescue Boxing Academy is a community project run by local firefighters in their own time, based at West Hartford Community Fire Station in Cramlington. Open to people of all ages from 10 years old upwards, the academy offers boxing classes for all abilities.

Boxing builds self-esteem, courage, discipline, dedication, focus, and respect — qualities shared by both good boxers and good firefighters. The first session is free.
