The Snake Pit Wigan is the historic home of Catch-as-Catch-Can wrestling, rooted in the legendary Riley's Gym tradition from Wigan. Led by Head Coach Roy Wood, with over 60 years of wrestling experience, the club is dedicated to preserving and passing on the authentic techniques of Catch wrestling.

The club welcomes beginners and experienced grapplers alike — including those with backgrounds in MMA, BJJ, Judo, Olympic wrestling, and other martial arts. Classes run weekly, with monthly workshops, seminars, competitions (including British and World Championships), accreditation courses, and private sessions available.

The club also operates as Aspull Olympic Wrestling Club for freestyle and Olympic-style wrestling.
