Skandinaviska Ayurveda-Akademin

Ayurveda Akademin was founded in 1996 by Johan Ljungsberg and Dr Vinay Vora and is one of Sweden's oldest and most established centres for Ayurvedic health. The organisation has for many years trained health advisors and therapists in Scandinavia and internationally, and collaborates with Ayurvedic doctors from the Vora family. The academy is now located at Artemisgatan 43 in Stockholm, close to the Ropsten underground station.

In addition to consultations offering individual advice on diet and lifestyle based on pulse reading, the academy offers a wide range of courses and training programmes. These include training to become a health advisor and Ayurvedic massage therapist, meditation courses using the SOURCE method, aromatherapy courses, and retreats with yogic and Ayurvedic elements. Panchakarma treatments are currently on pause but are planned to resume in new premises. Ayurvedic massage treatments can be booked through a network of partner practitioners around Stockholm and Solna.

The academy is characterised by a holistic view of health in which diet, movement, mental wellbeing and spirituality are seen as interconnected. The organisation also carries out charitable work in India in collaboration with Dr Vinay Vora, including free consultations and support for schools and water projects in Ahmedabad. Booking is done via Bokadirekt.
