Surfakademin

Surfakademin is a surf and yoga collective based in Södermalm, Stockholm, known for having introduced over 10,000 Swedes to surfing over the past fifteen years. In addition to surf instruction, they organise retreats combining surf, yoga, meditation, paddling and coastal nature experiences — most recently in the form of a weekend trip to Varberg with accommodation at Varbergs Fästnings Bed & Breakfast.

The retreat format is social, with instructor-led sessions alternating with more relaxed activities such as hiking, sauna bathing and shared dinners. The programme is led by experienced surf and yoga instructors, including surf figures Jens and Peter as well as Mirja Zetterman from Retreatet — a combination that provides a clear grounding in both surf culture and mindfulness tradition.

Suited to those who want to combine movement in water with yoga and meditation in a shared setting, and who feel equally at home on a board as on a yoga mat.
