Allegiance Jiu-Jitsu Academy Derby is one of the UK's most experienced and respected martial arts schools, led by head coach Patrick Martin with over 40 years of martial arts experience and 29 years teaching in Derby. Formerly known as Gracie Barra Derby for nearly 20 years, the academy rebranded to reflect its independence and enduring values.
Classes offered include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), Japanese Jujitsu, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and self-defence and fitness. Coaches such as Brown Belt Dean Kirk teach a wide range of programmes from Little Champs and Junior BJJ through to Advanced BJJ and NoGi.
The academy prides itself on family, community, and inclusivity — welcoming everyone from first-time beginners to Black Belt graduates and competitive athletes.
