Established in 2004, South Derbyshire Karate Academy (SDKA) has been a cornerstone of martial arts teaching in Derby for over 20 years. Teaching a traditional Wado Ryu style syllabus blended with modern training techniques, the academy is led by 6th Dan Black Belt Senior Instructors with World and European Champion titles.

Classes run on Wednesdays at Moorways Sports Village, Sundays at Keldholme Lane Community Centre, and Tuesdays at Santinos Gym for competition training. Open to all ages from 4 upwards, SDKA prides itself on being diverse and inclusive, fostering self-discipline, respect, perseverance, confidence, physical fitness, and camaraderie.
