MCSDA is a registered charity founded in 1987 by Gary Stringer, offering self-defence and martial arts classes in Derby for over 40 years.
The academy teaches Stringer Ryu JUKADO — a multi-discipline, modern martial art — across age-specific programmes: Junior classes (ages 5–10), Cadet classes (11–15), Senior classes (16+), and Advanced Self Protection exclusively for women aged 14 and over. Additional classes include Fear Fighter self-defence courses, wrestling, Ki-Aikido and Adaptive Karate.
The facilities feature two fully matted areas, a sprung wooden floor training room, and a fully equipped learning centre. All instructors hold enhanced DBS checks, public liability insurance, and first aid training.
