Strange Wolves MMA is a nonprofit, volunteer-coached mixed martial arts club based at Creaven House on Claddagh Quay in Galway City, training since 2005.

Sessions run on Monday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, built around live training games, positional sparring and technical rounds across striking, wrestling and ground work rather than pad routines or fitness circuits.

Experienced martial artists can drop in for €12, while periodic beginners courses welcome people starting from scratch or returning after time away. Progress is recognised through the club's own Bronze, Silver and Gold Wolves system, with no belts, no paid grading days and no pressure to compete.

The club is led by founder Vinny Connolly and co-head coach Marcus Fields, has a perfect 5.0 rating across 22 Google reviews, and is known for its welcoming, no-ego atmosphere and community fundraising.
