Wolverhampton Karate Academy (WKA) is a 4,000 sq ft martial arts dojo with an onsite gym, honouring the traditions of Wadō-ryū Karate while embracing full-contact disciplines including Kyokushin Karate, kickboxing, and boxing.
Led by 6th Dan Head Coach Sean Merrit and a team of experienced instructors, WKA welcomes students from age 5 upwards — absolute beginners and seasoned competitors alike. Classes cover traditional and sport karate, kickboxing, and boxing, with a dedicated squad training programme for those who want to compete nationally and internationally.
The academy also places strong emphasis on practical self-defence, helping members build confidence, resilience, and discipline both inside and outside the dojo. First class is free.
