Sakya Changchub Chöling

Sakya Changchub Chöling is a Buddhist centre in Stockholm operating within the Sakya tradition, one of the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The centre was founded in 1979 and is built on a teaching tradition with roots in 11th-century Tibet. It is a registered association and a member of Sveriges buddhistiska gemenskap.

Each week, participants gather at the centre's premises for group meditation and study. The methods and practices on offer aim to cultivate compassion, loving kindness, mindful presence and inner stability. Teaching is delivered by experienced teachers with a thorough grounding in the Tibetan monastic tradition.

The centre's founder is Khenchen Sherab Gyaltsen Amipa Rinpoche, born in 1931 in Tibet and trained at the main monastery of the Sakya tradition from childhood. Teaching is also led by Khenpo Tashi Sangpo Amipa. The centre welcomes anyone with an interest in Buddhist philosophy and meditation practice, regardless of prior experience, and publishes a regular programme of activities.
