Maru Karate Kai is a grant-funded karate club based in Basildon, Essex, teaching Shindo-Ryu Karate-Do to children since 2009. Led by Marc Grayston-hanshi and supported by a dedicated instructor team, the club focuses on building self-confidence and increasing physical activity in young people.
Classes are currently free of charge until March 2027, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, the UK Government, BBC Children in Need, Tesco Community Grants, and the Jack Petchey Foundation.
