GKR Karate (Go-Kan-Ryu) is a traditional Japanese-style karate club founded by Robert Sullivan in Adelaide, South Australia in 1984. Taught in a non-contact environment, GKR focuses on character and physical development — including self-defence, fitness, coordination, discipline, and confidence.
Classes are available for children, teens, adults, and families, making it a welcoming club for all ages and abilities with hundreds of dojos around the world, including locations across the United Kingdom.
