Axelsons Institute

Axelsons Institute in Norrmalm, Stockholm, is one of Sweden's oldest and most established schools for body and health therapies. Since 1962, the institute has trained massage therapists, podiatrists, skin care therapists, reflexologists, and nutrition and coaching specialists. In addition to the longer vocational programmes, shorter courses are offered in massage, Skin & SPA, medical podiatry and reflexology — and for some time now also online courses for those who wish to study remotely.

As a student at Axelsons, practical training is included, and it is precisely this practical training that also makes the institute accessible to the general public: through bookable student treatments, visitors can receive massage, foot care, skin care and other therapies at reduced prices. Axelsons has a wellness card and accepts wellness allowance (friskvårdsbidrag). The institute's international reputation is particularly associated with Swedish massage — half of all massage therapists in Sweden are said to have trained here.
