Shambhala Center Stockholm

Shambhala Meditation Stockholm is a non-profit association with premises at Väringgatan 25 in Vasastan, a five-minute walk from the underground station at S:t Eriksplan. The association is part of an international network of meditation centres and works from the Shambhala tradition's view of basic human goodness as a starting point for personal and societal development.

Every Tuesday, open meditation is held and everyone is welcome, regardless of prior experience. An instructor is present and the session can also be attended digitally via Zoom. The cost for non-members is 50 kronor. On Wednesday mornings, a shorter meditation session is also offered via Zoom from 08.00 to 08.30. In addition to the regular evenings, the association organises weekend courses, retreats and study circles, often with invited teachers from Sweden and abroad.

Becoming a member involves an active commitment to the community — financial contribution, voluntary work and regular meditation. The association is funded through membership fees, course surpluses and voluntary donations. Payment can be made via Swish, plusgiro or bank transfer. The organisation is governed democratically with annual general meetings and an elected board.
